In this short film, a journey within a landscape is experienced through the senses of a young boy. His eyes and ears become portals, that sights and sound flow through. In his absorbing journey, from the sea’s edge-inland, he witnesses orderly communities of limpets and seed mussels that have found a place to live and dwell, and the coexistence of rocks and mosses seem naturally ordained.

Commissioned by An Tobar, Mull, to mark their tenth birthday. Shown at The National Museum of Wales, Cardiff as part of Artes Mundi International Arts Prize 2008.

Duration 18 minutes, with sound in collaboration with Mark Vernon.
