The Horn 1997
An outdoor work commissioned for the mid point of the M8 Motorway running between Scotland’s largest cities, Glasgow and Edinburgh. The 24 m high stainless steel structure is sandwiched between the edge of Scotland’s busiest motorway and a local golf course. From this surreal location and context the sculpture broadcasts its voice to the passing traffic and the golfers at random intervals.
